Chris Chappell and I have a show at the Davis Gallery. You should come out. Bill Davis took our best paintings away from us and made a show out of them. This Thursday we’ll battle the formidable Ellen Bartel at the Pink hair salon during the First Thursday SOCO melee. My former Lucy In Disguise boss Brookie Carter (she denies ever being my boss but she used to make me arrange shoes, she was clearly the boss*) will be DJaying. We’ll paint Ellen as she performs her Butoh Dance moves (google it if you don’t know), and then we’ll paint portraits of a few other still-sitters in 15 minute increments, live, out there in front of God and everybody. http://do512.com/event/2007/12/06/afp-vs-ellen-bartel-live-painting-and-butoh-dance We’ll have some paintings hanging on the walls in there, too. Be sure to remind Deborah Carter that her astrological planet (Pluto) has been declassified and she’s no longer able to be a proud Scorpio. She loves that. She’ll know that you’re yanking her chain, but will still do her rant for you, while shooting sideways glances at me. It’s a fine rant.

*The truth about Brookies boss-hood has finally come to light. I was duped. She technically wasn’t my boss, but bossed me around anyway. She admitted it yesterday when I was dropping off paintings at the salon.
